About this map
Every place, border, climate and height here was read from Daggerfall's own data files (MAPS.BSA, CLIMATE.PAK, POLITIC.PAK and WOODS.WLD) using DFO Online's own readers, mapsFile.js and woodsFile.js, at game commit . Northrock Fort is added by the Roleplay & Realism mod, which loads online: its location file.
One square on this map is one map pixel, the unit the game uses for distances (bounties are 4 to 10 map pixels from town). Coordinates are map pixels from the top-left corner.
The DFO Online layers come from the game's own rules, run over the same files: the Wild Zone, kingdoms, seats, region hubs, shipyards, packet lanes and Starfall's covens. Bulletin boards were counted in every town as it stands online, after the Beautiful Villages and Beautiful Cities layouts that DFO Online turns on for everyone, then split into bounty and Notice Boards with the game's own rule. World events (Oblivion Gates, the Hollow, the Sea Serpent, falling stars) pick a new spot each day, and spawned dungeons come and go, so they are not drawn. The Sea Serpent always rises on a packet lane.
Colours show each pixel's climate, shaded by its height:
